Dr. Faket, who is a professor at Cambridge and a visiting professor at Stanford University, says such research will take years because the pot must come out of underdeveloped countries. He's not sure about a future when India's pot laws go into effect, because many other countries don't yet have laws to make it illegal to sell certain kinds of pot in the first place.

Though India is the most heavily used pot maker in the world, the pot is not being moved in its current form. Last year the Indian Embassy in London announced plans to open 16 shops along a stretch of the river to accommodate the development of pot factories, and the Indian Ministry of
