The Bure Council of Canadians has been trying to find out if they can get the farmers of Mississauga to approve changes in the proposed Farmers Garden Program, a $14.7-million project that would create a six-acre organic farm that would be home to more than 500 employees and support 10 different species.

But Baur says those changes would only make it difficult.

"Even if you're trying to go grow a tomato garden in Toronto, it doesn't mean you will grow tomatoes every year," she said. "Even if you do say you're going to have more plants, it needs to be a lot more
