Tillerson County Animal Services has investigated a complaint that a child was "disturbed for being overzealous of its own welfare" after he was repeatedly "caught out in the middle of the yard, in front of other children holding other pets" while they were at one site.

The report by DPS on Wednesday comes in the wake of a high-profile attack on a 12-year-old girl in April of 2015 and a school-age child getting a taste of his own medicine during a playground play area visit.

The girl, whose identity is in doubt and the child remains in critical condition, later tweeted her story to Facebook and called for a child protection investigation. The incident came an hour before Harris County Child Protective Services asked for the girl's consent to visit, the agency said.

At the time, the Harris County Sheriff's Office reported that a 12-year-old boy had bitten a girl with a broken arm the day before, so he was not allowed to attend the school in the first place, the report notes. In a joint memo Wednesday with investigators from Harris County Animal Services, the DPS said it was being investigated for the incident but declined to provide details.

The DPS report said there was a "significant number" of injuries attributed to those two incidents. Two people who did work after the attack died Sunday. The DPS reported that two other children were treated later in the day at
